Cryptic Lineages is a new body of work by interdisciplinary artist Laura Splan exploring technological translations of the natural world with tactile artworks and sensory experiences. References to epigenetic research on environmental influences on gene expression serve as a conceptual scaffold to explore the impact of past events on our present bodies and future humanity. This new series of multimedia projects will engage audiences through programming including exhibitions, performances, lectures, workshops, publications, and discussions.
