Disbursement and Accumulation
2004
DVD (color video, no sound)
TRT: 18min. 44sec.
Disbursement and Accumulation presents a meditative and ambiguous flowing image serving as a formal abstraction of the physicality of bleeding and of blood itself. Blood intermittently dripping in water fluctuates between beauty and horror as the unprocessed and unedited footage allows the viewer to experience and appreciate the natural forms and movement. The medium of video transforms the motion and color into painterly tableaus.

Reviews:
"...closely-filmed drops of her own blood... the drops appear to explode like fireworks... with the transparent grace of jellyish. It's blood as an intimate portrait of the human body, its deep secrets, joyful and reflective alike..." (Wiebe, VC Reporter, 2005)
