| Dissected Dissected is a series of formal portraits of cats that were dissected in a high school classroom. I did not pose or manipulate the cats in any particular way but rather simply propped them for display in front of the camera. Their monstrous and almost animated stance and expressions are the form in which I received them. While a controversial piece, I was interested in focusing on the individuality each cat retains despite their tragic condition. I am fascinated by their justifiably angry facial expressions as a post mortem declaration of outrage against their fate and the fate of many animals in our culture.
